School of Public Health and Community Medicine, Institute of Medicine

Our vision is to help improve public health at local, regional and global levels. We do so through high-quality education, innovative research and practical application of the research in the community at large. We run three popular Master?s programmes ? in public health, global health and innovation and entrepreneurship ? that attract students worldwide. In addition, we provide freestanding courses and commissioned education. There is close cooperation between our education and our research. Our researchers study public health issues associated with numerous areas, from work environment and mental ill-health to alcohol consumption, migration and climate change.

At the School of Public Health and Community Medicine, there is a close connection between research and education. Many of our researchers teach in both courses and Master''s programs, such as the Master''s Program in Global Health, as well as other vocational educations within the Sahlgrenska Academy. We supervise and train PhD students in general medicine, public health science and epidemiology for example. We also offer PhD-courses, as well as provide commissioned training in occupational and environmental medicine, social medicine and biostatistics.
