Faculty of Public Health

Faculty of Public Health at the Medical University of Plovdiv (Bulgaria) has been established by a decision of the Academic Council ( 5/28.09.2007) and institutionally legitimated by a decision of the National Assembly of Bulgaria (State Gazette 34/08.05.2009).

The Faculty of Public Health is offering the following accredited educational programs, awarding the graduates with EU recognized diplomas in:

Bachelor of health care management ? for nurses, midwives and rehabilitation therapists

full-time in Bulgarian language - 5 semesters, 240 ECTC credits.
part-time in Bulgarian language - 5 semesters, 240 ECTC credits.

Master of health care management ? for nurses, midwives and rehabilitation therapists after bachelor degree

full-time in Bulgarian language - 2 semesters, 75 ECTC credits and 3 semesters, 105 ECTC credits.

Master of management of social activities and public health ? for non-medical professionals

part-time in Bulgarian language 3 semesters, 90 ECTC credits.

Master of public health and health management for medical doctors

part-time in Bulgarian language 2 semesters, 60 ECTC credits.

PhD programs - part- and full-time.

Post-graduate courses and specialization for medical doctors

Teaching and training are performed by qualified lecturers and instructors with academic degrees and interests in the following main areas: social medicine, general medicine, medical and business ethics, medical informatics and biostatistics, hygiene and ecology, epidemiology of infectious diseases, applied epidemiology, disaster medicine, medical psychology, philosophical anthropology, medical sociology, information technologies in medicine, health management, health economics, medical law, health project management, etc.

The Faculty of Public Health has modern classrooms with about 300 seats, computer labs and working offices, all equiped with fast Internet connection.

The Language Department at the Medical University of Plovdiv offers pre-training courses in Bulgarian language.
