The Department of Public Health is one of the first departments of the Faculty of Health Sciences, established in 1999.

Public health is a modern, especially important field in recent times, which helps prevent diseases, ensures health promotion and quality of life. Especially in the pandemic and post-pandemic period, the essential role of public health specialists was revealed, public health specialists were on the front lines in the fight against unexpected pandemic outbreaks. It is a specialty that is in demand and very necessary recently with real employment opportunities.

Public health specialists are the first to respond to outbreaks of pandemics, epidemics, and infectious diseases, prepare healthy lifestyle recommendations, and conduct research on the effects of noise, pollution, odors, and chemicals on public health. Health bachelors and masters assess the health of society and its individual groups, create, prepare, implement and implement health programs, paying special attention to the health of children, adolescents, and the elderly. These specialists are very needed in the modern labor market, with the possibility of employment in public health offices, public health centers, health departments of municipal administrations, pre-school education institutions, schools, personal health care institutions, territorial sick funds, etc.

The Department of Public Health conducts Bachelor of Public Health, Master of Public Health Education, and Master of Health Care Management studies. In addition, it is possible to study additional studies in Public Health Education and Health Care Management, as well as continuous shortened Bachelor''''s studies in Public Health.
