The Berlin School of Public Health (BSPH) is a collaborative initiative of three universities in Berlin:
- Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences (ASH Berlin)
- Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin
- Technical University Berlin
BSPH offers various Master?s degree programs in Public Health and Epidemiology:
- Master of Science in Public Health (MScPH) - a consecutive Master's program in Public Health, which directly follows a Bachelor's program (language of instruction: German)
- Master in Public Health and Master of Science in Epidemiology- two
- Master's programs in Public Health and Epidemiology designed for individuals with professional experience (language of instruction: German)
- Master?s program in Applied Epidemiology, which takes place at the Robert Koch Institute
Classes take place in lecture halls at the Charité Campus Virchow, Campus Mitte and at the Technical University Berlin. BSPH administrative office is located at the Institute of Public Health at the Charité.
Within the framework of system accreditation, the study programs are evaluated by external expert committees every three years on the basis of defined standards.
Academic programs Public Health and Epidemiology
Intensive Short Courses in English are a small component of the academic programs at BSPH. Participants acquire in-depth knowledge with a methodological focus on a specialized topic in public health and epidemiology. Language of instruction: English.
Public Health is offered at the BSPH as a consecutive Master program and also in the framework of professional further education.
Teaching focuses on factors that influence the health situation of a population. These include, for example, the health system, healthcare structures, the financing of health services, political and social conditions, health risk factors and the health behaviour of a population. Furthermore, the students acquire competences in epidemiology, biostatistics and methods of empirical social research. Language of instruction: German.
Epidemiology is offered at the BSPH within the framework of professional further education.
Teaching focuses on the distribution of health and disease in population groups, as well as the factors influencing this distribution. Epidemiology brings together methods and findings from medicine, statistics, social and natural sciences and deals with the planning, implementation and evaluation of research studies. Language of instruction: German.
